she/her
Ellery is an anti-racist facilitator, healing-centered coach, and culture builder who supports fellow white folks strengthening their role in collective liberation. She is grateful to co-create spaces for honest reflection, connection and practice that deepen our capacity to navigate anti-racism with courage and discernment. Through individual and group coaching, she accompanies white folks committed to racial justice as we navigate the complexity, grief and ongoing growth this work asks of us, deepening our connection to ourselves and our values while building the capacity to take reparative action in relationships, communities, and institutions we are connected to. Alongside a multiracial team of facilitators, she partners with community-based organizations to provide staff training focused on interrupting racial harm, challenging white supremacy culture, uplifting the value of lived experience in community work, and building more anti-racist workplace cultures.

Episode Overview: We are honored to launch the second series of Remembering Us with Briayna Cuffie and Lotte Lieb Dula who coined the term Reparative Genealogy, a practice of researching family lineage to understand each of our direct connections to slavery, and how to work toward repair. Through Briayna and Lotte’s stories we can plainly see the ongoing obstructions for some, and indisputable benefits for others, that have created and deepened the racial wealth gap throughout time.
In this episode, we follow them both through their journeys of diving deeper into their family histories – the surprises, the throughlines, and intuitive unfoldings along the way. Throughout the episode their tangible connection to each other and to their purpose provide a living example of direct, interpersonal reparations.
You’ll hear how together they’ve created an interactive website and portal Reparations4slavery.com for those looking to deepen their knowledge on reparative genealogy and reparations.
About the podcast: Remembering Us is the storytelling of everyday people dedicated to racial justice and healing. This series focuses on sharing the stories of our families and ancestors who identify as “white” and what the process of becoming white was, how it has shaped who we are and how we treat each other. You will meet people who are grappling with personal histories in the context of the historical atrocities that have constructed the country we live in. Thru the normalizing of truth telling, these stories are shared for the sake of creating a new legacy we can choose to live and leave.
